Arabic Gum

Arabic Gum is a natural exudate gum, also known as Acacia gum is a composite mixture of polysaccharides and glycoprotein that is mainly used as stabilizer in the food industry. Arabic gum is a product of the two species of acacia trees, Acacia Senegal and Acacia Seyal.
Sudan is greatest producer of Arabic gum, with more than 75% of the Senegalese grade supply which is the best quality. The acacia tree is found in dry regions of the country such as Darfur Kordofan and Sennar.

Types and grades of Gum Arabic 

Grade 1:  Hashab (Acacia Senegal):

Hashab known as hard gum for its glassy fracture is a pale to orange-brown colored solid substance, which consists of 85% of soluble dietary fiber and is known for many uses such as acting like a stabilizer for beverage emulsions and food items.

General specifications of Hashab grades:

·        Hand Picked Selected: 16mm & above.

·        Cleaned and sifted: 5mm – 16mm.

·        Granules: 0.5mm – 5mm.

·        Dust: 0.5mm.

Available sizes for export:

·          1mm & above.

·        Dust: 0.5 mm & under.

Grade 1: Talha (Acacia  Seyal):

Talha known as Flaky gum for its easy to crumble to powder is a yellow-brown colored solid substance and is very soluble in water.

General specifications of Talha grades:

·          Cleaned: 4mm & above.

·        Sifting: 0.5mm – 4mm.

·        Dust: 0- 0.5mm.

Available sizes for export:

·          Cleaned: 4mm & above.

·        Sifting: 0.5mm – 4mm.

·        Dust: 0- 0.5mm.

Packing:

·          Packed in 25 or 50 Kg Emulsion bags.

·        Gum Arabic is exported 22 MT exported in 20ft containers.
